The list of celebrity winemakers just got a name longer. Jon Bon Jovi, one of the most iconic rock stars ever (I’m biased, but it’s true) has launched a premium rosé wine brand. Apparently, rosé is a staple in the Bongiovi Hamptons household. They drink it all day everyday, and Jon himself calls it “pink juice”. But what does this rockstar know about wine? Well, aside from it being the only alcohol he drinks… nothing. Which is why he teamed up with renowned French winemaker Gérard Bertrand to create Diving into Hampton Water. In Western cultures, Friday the 13th is a harbinger of bad luck and not a happy holiday. Personally, my favorite number is 13 and I got no beef with Friday – so I’m chill! Yet some folk are superstitious. They choose to stay indoors on Friday the 13th, away from black cats, open ladders, sharp objects, and electrical hazards. Of course, superstitions aren’t only restricted to Friday the 13th. Not many of us know how long wine actually lasts after being opened. So we tend to keep unfinished wine bottles in the fridge for weeks until they’re undrinkable. This happens more often around the holiday seasons, when family dinners and friendly gatherings result in uncorking, but not necessarily finishing quite a few wine bottles. This happens with me often, especially lately with my wine studies. And while I know opened wine bottles go bad after a week at most, I simply don’t have the heart to throw them away on the spot.
